A LITTLE ABOUT THE RUG CENTER...

Rug Center is among the most well-established rug companies of the Bay Area, now serving tens of thousands of customers – including dealers and retail buyers.

Rug Center started up in 1980, initially under the name “Rose Carpet House USA”, and has been going strong ever since. We do our very best to not only sell our merchandise at the best possible prices, but also to make sure our customers go home with the rug, or rugs, of their dreams. We do our best to keep our clients happy and to build long-term relationships with them as our customers.

We customize hand-knotted rugs, too. Whatever the customer dreams of, we make. Any color, any size, any material (like silk wool etc.) – whatever we can do to make our customers’ satisfied.
 

The man who started it all, Mr. Javeed Chaudhry …has traveled the world seeking knowledge and inspiration while collecting rugs of all kinds. He came from a rug-making family in Pakistan, and in 1980 he traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to attend a rug exhibition to explore the US market for his family business.

In 1981, he moved to New York and became an importer of rugs. He started off by selling to retailers across the country. After fourteen years of success in NYC with the import-wholesale business, he decided to move to California in 1994. He and his family settled in Palo Alto and opened up a retail and wholesale store. In a very short period of time, Mr. Chaudhry had established his name as one of the most renowned rug merchants in the entire San Francisco Bay Area. Our current location is in Menlo Park, California.
 

Mr. Chaudhry has collected a rich variety of hand-woven Oriental and Persian rugs, including antique rugs from these regions, over the years and has developed many loyal customers. His inclination to be an early-adopter of innovative designs has helped make Rug Center one of Northern California’s most respected collections of contemporary rugs. As consumers discover the defining characteristics and lasting value of hand-woven rugs – even with more contemporary pieces – their appreciation grows for authenticity, quality and timeless appeal.
